There are a couple of ways to do this:

  1. There are 2 file groupings under My Files; Protected and Unprotected. Decide whether you want to designate a file as "Protected" or "Unprotected. All Protected files are encrypted and password protected. Because files larger than 1 megabyte take longer to encrypt and un-encrypt each time you use them, we suggest that you save all non-confidential files of 1 megabyte or larger as Unprotected.

  2. To add a file from your computer/documents, to this USB drive.  Decide which section you would like to save the document to, either "Protected Files" or "Un-Protected Files". Click "Add File" at the bottom of the screen under the appropriate section, either under "Protected Files" or "Un-Protected Files".

  4. Once you have created or entered your password, a new Window's  screen with pop up. Select  which file(s) from your documents or desktop, etc. you would like  to add. Once you have selected the file click the "Open" button under the file  name selected on the Window's screen.

  5. Opening a document: Check boxnext to the file(s), or double-click on a file you wish to open and then click the "Open" button at the bottom of the page.

  6. Moving Protected file to Un-Protected Files. To un-protect a file and move it to "Un-Protected File" grouping, click the check box or double click on the file to select it, then click "Un-Protect Checked Files" at the bottom of the screen. This will make the file un-protected or no longer password protected.

  7. Moving "Un-Protected Files" to "Protected Files". To Protect  file(s) that are saved in  "Un-Protected Files". Click the check box or double click on the file to select it, and click "Protect Files" at the bottom of the screen. This will make the file(s) password protected and encrypted.

  8. Deleting a File: Click on the "View All Files" button at the top of the page. Select the file you would like to delete, and push "Delete" on your key board. A file that you either add or delete in the View All Files screen will not be added or deleted to My Files area until you close and then re-open My Files, which refreshes the screen.
